American Broadband to offer phone service and enhanced cable TV services in Wayne
Blair, NE – American Broadband announced today that it is making a significant investment to upgrade its network and will be bringing local telephone and long distance services to the community of Wayne. The upgrade will enable faster Internet speeds and will also enhance the company’s existing cable TV services by offering additional channels. Customer will now have the opportunity to save money by bundling these new services into one convenient monthly bill. American Broadband hopes to launch the new services June 1, weather permitting.
American Broadband President and General Manager Shawn Hanson said, “The upgrade and service enhancements are examples of our commitment to the people and values of rural communities in Nebraska. Our emphasis on personal service and customer care, together with our belief in developing a high level of technology, is something that we believe will benefit the people of Wayne. We are glad to be able to make more of our services available to them.”
Hanson also said that he is pleased to build on the company’s past success of expanding its services in the nearby communities of Tekamah, Oakland, Lyons, Pender, Wakefield, and Emerson. “We are very happy with the response from the residents of nearby communities, and hope to match or exceed that response in Wayne,” he said.
Switching to American Broadband’s telephone service will be very simple and customers will be able to keep their existing telephone number. The company will offer free phone activation with telephone service as low as $9.99 per month. Additionally, once the entire upgrade is complete, high-speed Internet speeds up 10 Meg will also be available, and up to 50 HD channels will be added in 2010 along with several additions to the basic and digital cable line-ups. An enhanced sports and variety package will also be offered. As technicians are working on this upgrade, customers may experience brief outages of service until the necessary work is completed.
Residents and businesses who want to sign up for service or want more information will be able to do so at an event that will be held in Wayne at the City auditorium on Thursday, May 13, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Prize drawings will be held, and food and refreshments will be served throughout the day for everyone who attends. Guests are encouraged to bring their current telephone bills to see how much they can save per month by switching to American Broadband’s services. In addition, those interested in signing up for service will have the opportunity to schedule an installation time that is convenient for them. Additional sign-up events will be scheduled at a later date.
The new local telephone and long distance services will be available to all customers who live within the current coverage area for cable television and cable modem Internet access service. More information is available by calling 375-1120 or visiting www.ABBNebraska.com.
