Changing Long Distance Providers
If you would like to change long distance provider(s), you must contact your existing carrier to disconnect service and the desired carrier to establish new service. You will set up a new account and obtain a new Change-In-Carrier (CIC) Code from your desired carrier. Then, contact HunTel about your change and the switch will take effect. 

Long Distance Discount Periods
Long distance carriers (i.e. AT&T, Sprint, MCI, etc.) establish their own discount rate periods. Generally, evening, night, weekends and selected holiday calling costs less. Calls requiring operator assistance include an additional charge. Discount periods and rates are subject to change without notice. Discounts do not apply to Directory Assistance calls. Contact your long distance carrier for specific discounts.

Alternate Operator Services
Some hospitals, hotels, motels, airports, universities and private coin phones contract with an Alternate Operator Service (AOS.) AOS rates can be higher than those charged by your long distance or local telephone company. You often pay for uncompleted calls.

Calling Card
A calling card saves money when you make long distance calls away from home. It is less expensive than operator-assisted calls. Charges are itemized on your long distance statement. Contact your long distance carrier for more information.

Restricted Calling Card
Pre-assign specific telephone numbers that the cardholder can call. Contact your long distance carrier for more information.

Pre-Paid Calling Card
Similar to traditional calling cards but long distance time is purchased in advance rather than billed later.

Bill to a Third Number
This call is completed by the operator and the charges are billed to a telephone number other than the number you are calling.

Collect Calls
Collect calls are completed through the operator. Charges are billed to the number called only if someone at that number agrees to accept the charges.

Ship to Shore
Call your long distance operator, or the COMSAT Operator at 1-800-685-7898, to request the ship satellite dialing number. Then call that number as an international call prefaced by the appropriate country code of the ocean region in which the ship is located. INMRSAT Maritime (ship- to-shore):
