Nebraska Telecommunications Relay System
711 or
TDD 1-800-833-7352 or
Voice 1-800-833-0920
A statewide relay service provides persons who are deaf, hard of hearing and/or speech impaired complete access to the telephone network. All Nebraska telephone companies are required to collect the monthly surcharge of
six cents (subject to change based on Nebraska Public Service Commission review) for every telephone line in Nebraska.
Persons who are deaf, hard of hearing and/or speech impaired can communicate with hearing parties by using a Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD). Specially trained operators relay conversations electronically over the TDD or computer, or verbally to hearing customers.
In case of an emergency, you can dial 911 direct.
The Nebraska Telecommunications Relay System completes local and long distance calls. Long distance calls must originate in Nebraska or be billed to a Nebraska telephone number. There is no charge for local calls. Long distance calls are billed at special discounted rates. There is no charge for call setup time.
A TDD provided by the Gateway to the West Independent Telephone Pioneers Association is available in our Customer Service Center from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturdays.
