Annoyed by telemarketers who call as you sit down for dinner?
Would you like to enjoy more telemarketer free evenings? There are steps that you can take to reduce or almost eliminate the number of telemarketers who call your home.
Call the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and request to be put on its “do-not-call” list. The organization’s number is 212-768-7277. Most reputable telemarketing companies are members of the DMA.
Request a postcard from the Nebraska Attorney General’s office that can be sent to the DMA. These pre-printed postcards explain you would like to be placed on the “do-not-call” list. The attorney general’s consumer help line is 1-800-727-6432.
Make a request to be placed on the “do-not-call” list for each person living in your household.
Make sure you call or send a post card to the DMA annually. Each request to be placed on the “do-not-call” list is only good for one year.
Washington County residents
can have even more power to control the number of telemarketing calls they receive. It’s a feature called
Telemarketing Block and for $3.95 per month, it can make it virtually impossible for telemarketers to bother your family.
